Iconic Brussels fleamarket Jeu de Balle celebrated its 150th anniversary this past weekend. We love how our creative friend Fasu Aguirre (Insta @el.fasu) illustrated a winter scene from this popular spot!
Did you know? Place du Jeu de Balle is located in the heart of the Marolles district and was built in 1873. It gained world recognition thanks to Tintin, who notably bought the Unicorn Boat there. Today this is a meeting place for locals, visitors and all those who appreciate authentic commerces and the Brussels folklore.
Since 1873, the famous flea market (known as the Old Market) is held at the Place du Jeu de Balle (FR) or Vossenplein (NL). The area around the square is a popular district with many nice restaurants, antique shops and typical Brussels cafés.
