The huge mural painting in the Saint Catherine area is getting massive media attention, and rightly so! The epic wall painting is visible from far and already looks like a great addition to our unique capital.
The mural was painted by Bulgarian artist Bozko who was invited to the Quais quarter, on the occasion of the 2018 Balkan Trafik Festival, in collaboration with the City of Brussels.
The street art wall is located at the Quai au Bois de Construction 7 and was inaugurated on 18th April 2018.
Balkan Trafik is the popular cultural event in Brussels, mixing music, art, gastronomy and cultural diplomacy and helping both Brussels and Balkans to connect and better understand each other.
The last, 12th edition focused on street art during an ‘Urban Chapter’ in collaboration with Lezarts Urbains. This is why City of Brussels proposed inviting an artist from the Balkans to create a mural on a facade of the city as part of the Brussels Street Art Trail. The Bulgarian artist Bozko was chosen – he is known for enormous works of art usually filled with imagined, strange but cute characters.
The street art wall was realized on the facade of a private home. Last year, the owners presented themselves as candidates after the City’s appeal to owners to include their facade(s) in the Street Art Trail.
