A Summer Escape Along the Brussels Canal

  • Editorial Team
  • June 23, 2026
  • 2 minute read

From July 2 to 19, 2026, Quai d’Été returns to the Brussels Canal, transforming its waterfront into one of the city’s most vibrant summer destinations.

Expect DJ sets on the water, musical cruises, an open-air café, food trucks, sports activities, family-friendly entertainment and plenty of space to relax by the canal. Whether you’re looking for an active afternoon or a laid-back evening with a drink by the water, Quai d’Été offers one of the best ways to experience summer in Brussels.

Set along the canal (Quai des Péniches), this open-air cultural hub brings together music, food, leisure and community, creating the perfect urban escape for anyone looking to enjoy a different side of Brussels during the summer months.

A truly unique summer experience in Brussels
There will be so many activities to choose from – The Boat, music & DJ sets, family and kids activities, yoga sessions, workshops, screenings, sports programming and much more. One of our absolute favourites is The Boat – a festive cruise along the Brussels canal, offering a chance to enjoy the summer and discover the city from a completely new perspective – from the waterway!

On board The Boat, you sail for 2 hours on the canal, with collectives of Brussels and Belgian DJs who transform everything into a real floating party.

Alongside the waterfront festivities, The Boat sets sail with 38 themed cruises, bringing together live music, DJs and a lively atmosphere with curated onboard experience along the Brussels Canal. There will be two cruises every day and three cruises every Saturday. The musical cruises will be organised in collaboration with various Brussels collectives, but the spots are limited – get more info and reserve your cruise here.

The Quai d’Été along the Brussels canal is organised by Brussels Major Events as part of the Summer Wonders festival – a broader programme which includes various entertainment and cultural activities around Brussels.

Event info:
