If you live around Belgium or France, you could not have missed spotting the cartoon character ‘Le Chat’ (The Cat) in bookstores. The open-air exhibition ‘Le Chat Déambule’ (the cat roams) with a range of dedicated sculptures opens in the Brussels Park (Royal Park) until 30 June 2023. A perfect way to roam into the spring and summer!
Who is Le Chat?
Created by Belgian illustrator Philippe Geluck in 1983 for the magazine ‘Le Soir,’ The Cat donned a suit and appeared in cartoons about some of the world’s contemporary problems.
Since then, The Cat keeps appearing everywhere, including in his own comic albums published from Casterman. Philippe Geluck is also an actor, a comedian, and a radio host for decades.

There will be 22 cat sculptures on display inside the Royal Park for visitors to roam around and admire them. In addition, two new cats will also be unveiled at this exhibition!
