Armerun – heritage hotel in Šibenik that embodies the essence of the Croatian Adriatic

Taking a break at the beautiful Croatian coast is always a good idea. This time we chose Šibenik as our destination – a true gem, a city with a long history, beautiful nature, rich culture and blooming nightlife. No wonder this is the up-and-coming city to visit and, located conveniently, easily reachable from both airports Split and Zadar, it is one of Croatia’s hottest places to be.

The best choice to stay in the city so full of culture, history and art was, for sure, the recently opened heritage hotel Armerun. Situated perfectly right at the seafront, only a few steps away from the UNESCO protected St. Jacob’s Cathedral and center of the city, the gorgeous heritage hotel welcomes guests from all over the world, providing a mixture between luxury and tradition, a perfect combination when exploring the city of King Krešimir.

A part of the historical complex, with the hotel and restaurant area formerly being a Dominican monastery, everything about this hotel is exceptional and well thought through. Just walking to the reception is an experience in itself – you will pass through a so-called ‘buta’ Harolda Bilinića, a traditional passage that connects the seafront and the inner city while leading you to the reception. Carefully renovated, it is now serving also as a space for art exhibitions.

Walking into Armerun you will immediately sense the special air about it – bringing together the traditional Dalmatian style with luxury and contemporary design, this extraordinary heritage hotel offers the guests the best of both worlds. With the renovation done in agreement with conservators to preserve the historical quality of the space, many interesting artefacts were found – now owned by the Museum of the City of Šibenik, they are displayed in the hotel for the guests to enjoy.

Whether you booked a room with the sea view or the view at the Old Town, you most certainly can’t go wrong. Beautifully designed rooms provide full comfort while keeping the feel of the historic architecture. All the details are carefully selected to create a holistic experience and for enjoyment during your stay. In addition, one of the things you will certainly notice is wonderful and delicate scent of the hotel and the rooms – the signature fragrances by Rituals are used throughout the hotel, also as toiletries.

Armerun is not only about the beautiful architecture – it is about the experience as a whole. You will have luscious breakfast at the hotel restaurant Buta and what a breakfast it is – choosing between a variety of fresh, local food, including oysters, the breakfast will be the most perfect start of the day.

The most welcoming staff will cater to your needs and explain everything you’d want to know not only about the hotel and its history but also about the city and the area, making sure you have the best time according to your interests.

After the whole day in one of the most beautiful Croatian cities, come back to Buta for the best cocktails in Šibenik – enjoying them on the terrace with the sea view will be the most memorable way to end the day.
