Jardin Musical, a creative ecosystem formed by artists, for artists

  • Editorial Team
  • April 27, 2021
  • 3 minute read

Le Jardin Musical is a militant initiative, a creative ecosystem formed by artists, for artists. In the heart of historic Brussels, in the studio of its founder, the pianist Julien Brocal, the Jardin Musical is opening a human-scale salon to showcase regional artists and promote them internationally.

Here, a sustainable model of “fair trade” streaming is germinating. The concept? 50% of the benefits from concerts and subscriptions to the Jardin Musical are collected by the artists who cultivate it. The Jardin Musical thus echoes the pandemic that is currently affecting the world of culture by encouraging the emergence of an alternative path. The public, by joining this militant initiative, becomes a co-producer of the artists it supports.

This equitable model also relies on a second component: the audiovisual production in very high definition and the creation of cultural events in line with the values it defends. By committing to self-sufficiency, the Jardin Musical transposes the principles of permaculture to artistic life to celebrate its beauty: in the face of change, be inventive; welcome diversity and value it; integrate instead of separating; the only limits are those of our imagination.

The 2021 « #Spring » Season
From April 11th to June 27th, every other Sunday, the Jardin Musical will open its salon virtually to the public, before being able to welcome them in person, to bring live music to life and continue to support artists from the Belgian and European scene.

On the program: Quentin Dujardin (solo guitar), Mischa & Lily Maisky (cello & piano), Maria João Pires (piano), Aline Zylberajch (harpsichord), Rosanne Philippens & Julien Quentin (violin & piano), Roby Lakatos & his ensemble (gypsy violin).

These concerts will be broadcast live at 6pm on the www.jardinmusical.tv platform. The videos are available on VOD for 24 hours after the concert and unlimited under the condition of subscription to the Jardin Musical.

As a highlight, the portuguese pianist Maria João Pires, Julien Brocal’s mentor, will give a gala concert in support of the Jardin Musical’s activities. This concert will exceptionally be broadcast live “for free” on the JM platform and Facebook.

During this event, it will be possible to support the activist initiative of the Jardin Musical through a donation link. The King Baudoin Foundation also gives the opportunity to donors of a 40% tax exemption for any support over 40 euros.

The Jardin Musical proposes to the public to subscribe to its militant initiative for 15 euros per month during one year. In addition to participating in the development of the project, members then benefit from unlimited access to the content of the platform: concerts of the musical seasons in very high definition, behind the scenes of the JM, unpublished interviews and exclusive content

NB: 50% of the ticketing and subscription benefits are paid back to the programmed artists.
