#StillAlive, a tribute to the dying cultural sector

StillAlive – a new song and music video by Milo Savic pays tribute to the dying cultural sector. Brussels DJ Milo Savic has released a music track called “Still Alive”, dedicated to the dying culture sector. To better express his emotions, the DJ shot the video in the most emblematic party places, bars and restaurants of Brussels & Belgium!

Some of the iconic locations that are included in the video are: Palais 12, Forest National, Cirque Royal, Madeleine, Botanique, Sportpaleis, UGC de Brouckère, Halles Saint-Géry, Le Fuse, Jalousy, Winter Games, Bar Rouge, Imperial, the Market Bar, the Loft, the Schievelavabo and others… Cultural, event and hospitality venues are highlighted in order to show the silence that is currently present in otherwise festive and crowded places. The video clip also shows some of the tenants and their sadness with the current situation.

“Despite the constraints, we continue to create. In a global system, we are not the priority” says a line from the music spot. The lyrics is touching and straightforward. It is also critical for the lack of consideration for an entire sector which has been almost completely at a standstill since March 2020.

The singer Nephtys wrote the lyrics. It was inspired by a discussion that the artists had about the catastrophic situation in the cultural sector. The clip is accompanied with a choreography by Louis George and the performance of the dancer Clémence Nicolas.

This clip comes out a few weeks before we jump into the new year. According to the current situation, the outlook for 2021 is not very positive for the culture, events and catering sector.

However, Milo Savic and Nephtys continue to share their positive message despite all the difficulties. As they say – creativity cannot stop and this is also the message of their song – We are still alive! Together we are stronger in the face of this situation.
