New in Quartier Madou: Tandem – Fiets Café Vélo

  • Editorial Team
  • July 5, 2020
  • 2 minute read

Tandem, Fiets Café Vélo has opened in Quartier Madou! Since this week and for the whole summer, Tandem cafe is open from Tuesday to Friday noon (from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and offers you the Tandem plate, the sandwiches of the week and the homemade desserts.

TANDEM is the dream of five people of Brussels who are passionate about cycling and good food. It is an open, hospitable and eco-responsible place for cycling and good food. The project is inspired by the bicycle cafes that already exist in many European cycling cities. Tandem is a café, a bicycle repair shop and a shop for bicycle accessories.

The concept was first tested in the summer of 2017 in the Orangerie of the Parc Jean-Félix Hap in Etterbeek, in the form of a pop-up and then went back to work in the summer of 2018 with a second pop-up in the Center communal maritime in Molenbeek. Since March 2020 the project is permanently settled in Madou as part of a collaboration with Mundo-madou. Whether for a bite to eat, to have your bike repaired, to attend a seminar, to have brunch with, an afterwork with friends, a great coffee or a nice gift, there are reasons enough to visit Tandem.

Specials for this summer:

You can have lunch on the sunny terrace, but the entire menu is also available in take away! You can also order in advance if you want sandwiches for a meeting. The hosts hope to welcome you soon to pamper your taste buds and / or your bike. 🙂 If you work in the Madou district, spread the word to your office colleagues and help make this place a success!

Return of the Tandem = Return of Sunday brunches from 10am! A savory plate + a sweet plate + hot drink + cold drink = 25 €, children: 10 € and free for children under two.

The place is kids friendly: large and quiet courtyard, kids corner and plenty of room for all ages.

Tandem also occasionally plans activities for the little ones after brunch! Reservation indispensable (places limited) : hello@tandemcafe.be or 0474271075.

Location: Avenue des Arts 7, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. (right near the Madou metro)
