Nuit Confinée, a new film about confined nights in Brussels was produced by two young directors – Nathan Joachim and Malik Korati. Below, Malik shares his impressions and some of the reasons behind this project.
We have been in an exceptional situation for a little over two months now. The word “exceptional” is not used today in the most positive sense. For everyone, this situation was complicated to manage because it affected our morale and our portfolio. The Covid-19 will forever be remembered because it took away two months of our active and social life.
Fortunately, we are gradually coming to the end of this confinement. Life will gradually resume its classic rhythm. But is this good news? This is another debate.
In the meantime, despite the difficulties encountered during these two months, we – Nathan Joachim and I, young directors, allowed ourselves to film this situation during the calmest moment: at night.
We are convinced that we must keep track of what happened to us and thus offer you our vision of containment. A slightly more positive vision because it highlights things that we sometimes don’t take the time to look at.
