This was the second international climate strike organized by the Youth for Climate movement. Most of participants were young people, some of them regularly taking to streets around the world to make their voices heard in demanding urgent, just and equitable climate policy.
First international climate strike was held on March 15th when marches were held in more than 120 countries around the world. Around 30,000 demonstrators showed up on the streets of Brussels.
At the same time, the school strikes are part of a bigger movement which has mobilised thousands of students in Belgium to march in protest against inaction on climate change. These protests have been regular (weekly) activity in Brussels.
Thousands of Belgian pupils decided to skip classes in what has become an unprecedented protest against global warming and pollution. Here is the photo story from the last protest!
