It’s more important than ever for the world’s major cities to establish their “green” credentials. Website Comparethemarket.com published a research that fared European capital cities while taking into account several different measurements – tackling the pollution problem, improving public transport and cycling infrastructure, increasing the amount of green spaces and improving quality of life.
Brussels finished on the 20th place on the list that includes the top 25 capital cities of Europe. Vienna, Bern and Helsinki are the three top cities when it comes to the “green” label, followed closely by Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Oslo, Luxembourg, Berlin and Ljubljana. Interestingly, the neighboring Paris finds itself on the 21st spot, right behind Brussels.
