Agora Urban Master Class: Is living in Brussels good for your heath?

  • Editorial Team
  • November 12, 2018
  • 2 minute read

Is living in Brussels good for your health? – This is the question that many people ask themselves these days and the new edition of Agora Urban Master class will try to address this issue with its lecturer Patrick Deboosere from the VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel).

People are often wondering if living in the city is good or bad for your health. The answer to this question is much more complex and multi-layered than it looks at first sight. The lecture on health and mortality in Brussels tries to disentangle the puzzle of urban health. It is a story about air quality and air pollution, about green areas and medical infrastructure, but also about inequality, poverty and migration. In this lecture we will look together how researchers tried to understand urban health with a focus on Brussels.
