Pool is cool: North Beach / Plage Nord / Noordstrand

  • Editorial Team
  • June 1, 2018
  • 2 minute read

The North beach with swimming in the fountain sea? It’s true and it’s happening in Boulevard Roi Albert II / Koning Albert II laan, in the Brussels’ North District. According to Pool is Cool, the organizers of this event, for one day people can swim in the fountain of the roundabout at the North Station! The street will be closed to become a beach with the bar and beach chairs. Water pleasure from lunch until dusk to show that urban swimming is fun and possible!

Pool is Cool is basically a project made by a group of “experts/citizens” who want to revive the outdoor swimming in Brussels. Namely, Brussels – the European capital, doesn’t offer to it’s citizens the possibility for swimming under the “blue” sky during hot days. There is not one open swimming pool in the city and people behind Pool is Cool are working on different projects which aim to inspire and show people how valuable the open air pool can be for the quality of city life.

Everyone is invited to come with friends and family to show their support for POOL IS COOL and outdoor swimming in Brussels! Check the Facebook event for more info.
