“Belgium is a beautiful city”, said President Trump some months ago. Before that, he claimed that Brussels is a hellhole. Today, many people complain about the “big mess in the city”, some are even protesting, others are just ignoring it or even enjoying the idea of having Brussels in the center of world attention. Simply, the American President Donald Trump’s visit has made a usual chaos in traffic, disrupted public transport, even the tourists were caught by surprise with the security measures and blockades all around the city centre. We share some of the most interesting photos from this afternoon, taken by users on the streets of Brussels and posted on their social media.
Instagram user @thisismybike posted a photo with the following comment: Three hours before the Trump visit to Belgium and the bicycle path alongside the US Embassy has been closed. Cyclists are forced to ride a two-lane raceway where cyclists really hate to be. Not fun. Trump March starts at 17:00. Am working, but determined to get there.
