Stylish city diary: Could Brussels soon become a fashion capital?

  • Editorial Team
  • May 25, 2025
  • 1 minute read

Brussels is home to one of the best fashion schools in the world, La Cambre, a cradle of talent whose alumni now shine on international runways. Designers such as Anthony Vaccarello (Saint Laurent), Marine Serre, Glenn Martens (Y/Project and Diesel), Matthieu Blazy (Bottega Veneta), Julien Dossena (Rabanne), and Nicolas Di Felice (Courrèges), among others, all emerged from its classrooms.

The city is also home to international luxury brands like Delvaux, considered the oldest luxury leather goods house in the world, founded even before Hermès, and Natan, a label frequently seen on the Belgian, Dutch, and Luxembourgish royal families. These maisons not only represent tradition and savoir-faire, but also inspire new generations to value design and its creative processes.

Moreover, Brussels is a hub for fresh and avant-garde ideas: young designers, concept stores, fairs like MAD Brussels, and a growing scene of fashion pop-ups. All of this blends with the city’s multicultural and artistic spirit, giving it a unique and trendy identity.

And just like the world’s most famous electronic music festival Tomorrowland is Belgian, Brussels is becoming a yearly meeting point for creatives and trendsetters from all over the world who come to set new directions in style, design, and aesthetics.

Could Brussels be the next fashion hotspot for emerging designers?
