  • 2 minute read

Founded in 1968, Art Brussels has become one of the most esteemed contemporary art fairs in Europe and a must-visit for art enthusiasts around the world. This year’s edition will take place between 20-23 April in Halls 5 and 6 of the Brussels Expo site – the Art Deco gem originally built for the 1935 Brussels International Exposition. This provides a unique opportunity to experience contemporary art in a venue that combines modernity with the charm of the past.

39th edition of Art Brussels will definitely be an important happening in the international art calendar. The fair consistently presents a diverse and international lineup, showcasing a unique mix of established artists and emerging talent from around the world. The galleries are thoughtfully curated across the four sections: PRIME, DISCOVERY, REDISCOVERY, and the fair’s SOLO sub-section.

For those seeking to discover the latest emerging talent in contemporary art, the DISCOVERY section at Art Brussels is not to be missed. This section features galleries that actively support emerging international artists, presenting booths with a single artist presentation or an interesting dialogue between two artists who are not yet known in the European context.

PRIME section at Art Brussels showcases work of some of the most exciting and influential artists today. With galleries hailing from all over the world, the PRIME section at Art Brussels is a truly international affair.

For those with an interest in uncovering hidden gems of the art world, the REDISCOVERY section at Art Brussels is not to be missed. This section is dedicated to under-recognized or forgotten 20th century artists, whether they are living or deceased. The aim of REDISCOVERY is to shed light on surprising, unknown, and original practices that have yet to enter the mainstream of art history.

Lastly, the SOLO section at Art Brussels features galleries presenting a project-based presentation by one living artist, offering a focused reflection on their work. By highlighting the work of a single artist, the SOLO section provides a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with the nuances and intricacies of the artist’s practice, gaining a deeper understanding of their creative vision.

OFF Programme of the fair also offers an exciting opportunity to discover multiple museums, institutions, art centers, private collections, artists run space and foundations that will open their doors during Art Brussels 2023! To consult the OFF Programme click here.

Whether you’re a seasoned art collector, an aspiring art enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique cultural experience, Art Brussels 2023 promises to be an unmissable event. The fair welcomes around 25.000 visitors every year. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to explore the galleries, engage with artists, and discover the richness of the European art scene.
