The Design Museum Brussels celebrates its 10th anniversary at the end of 2025. To mark the occasion, on 6 and 7 December, admission will be completely free, offering everyone the opportunity to get immersed in the vibrant world of design.
Since its opening in 2015, the Design Museum Brussels has established itself as a leading institution dedicated to the history of design from the 20th century to the present day. The museum houses two collections: the Plastic Design Collection, a deep dive into the creative use of plastics in design since the Golden Sixties, and Belgisch Design Belge, which shares a panorama of Belgian design through its icons, figures, and key moments.

In ten years, the institution has presented nearly 50 temporary exhibitions, as well as 7 off-site projects, affirming its active role in the cultural landscape. Its collection now comprises approximately 2,300 pieces, almost 20 percent more than when the museum opened.
With over a million visits since its opening, the Brussels institution’s influence extends far beyond Brussels, forging close ties with prestigious European partners such as the Vitra Design Museum and the Design Museum in London.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Design Museum Brussels will be offering a free admission to the museum on 6 and 7 December. On Sunday, 7 December, intergenerational guided tours are organized to explore the exhibition Design and Comics: Living in a Box as a family (info & reservations here).
The anniversary celebrations will continue with other events open to everyone: on 10 December, the “Read at the Museum” activity offers a magical reading experience within “Design and Comics: Living in a Box,” for children aged 7 and up.
