The Smurf Experience comes to Brussels!

  • Editorial Team
  • October 16, 2024
  • 3 minute read

The Smurf Experience is coming to Brussels offering an unprecedented chance to plunge into the magical world of these little blue elves, from 23 October at the Brussels Expo. In addition to adventure and fun, education will also be in the focus of The Great Smurfs Adventure.

On 23 October 1958 the world was introduced to the Smurfs, the brainchildren of Belgian comics artist Peyo. That day, they appeared in the comics series Johan and Pierewit, which was published in several episodes in the weekly magazine Robbedoes. Since then, the Smurfs have grown into a worldwide phenomenon that continues to enchant children and adults alike. On 23 October 2024, after a journey across Europe that included stops in Paris, Bratislava and other cities, 66 years to the day after their first appearance, the Smurfs are returning to Brussels!

What to expect?
Jump into the magical setting of over 1,500 m² and explore the Smurf village, with its iconic mushroom houses and its mystical forest. This activity is perfect for all generations, individuals and families alike, offering a chance to experience the unique world of the Smurfs. During the 75-minute exploration, visitors will go through nine thematic zones, immersing into the authentic smurfs environment.

Have you ever dreamed of living like a Smurf? At the Smurf Experience, everyone can take on the role of a real Smurf. Imagine helping Papa Smurf concoct magic potions, sway to the rhythm of the real Smurf step and defy the plans of the evil Gargamel. You’ll be smurfing like never before and you will have the time of your life as you take part in fun, interactive challenges.

Heroes of the Planet
In addition to adventure and fun, education is a key focus of The Great Smurfs Adventure. The Smurfs embody important values such as solidarity, respect, and environmental protection. Since 2016, they have been spreading these values as United Nations ambassadors as part of the Small Smurfs Big Goals campaign, promoting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

During the exhibition, visitors can collect symbolic badges and learn how to apply these lessons to become heroes of the planet themselves.

Technology and Magic
In the Smurfs Adventure, the magical world of the Smurfs merges with cutting-edge technology: augmented reality, 3D projections, and dynamic interactions.

Around every corner, an explosion of discoveries awaits, with visual effects that bring the Smurfs to life even more vividly than in your childhood memories.

Need a break? Grab a snack or coffee at the Smurf Village
The Smurf Village adventures can make you thirsty and hungry so taking a break in the heart of the mystical forest is always a good idea. You’ll have a chance to discover “brasserie” menu specially created for the little blue creatures and their friends. For the most ardent smurf fans looking for something extra, this space can also be privatised for birthday parties and other celebrations, with full catering taken care by organisers.
