Launch of the Network of Young Italians in Belgium

Community of young Italians in Belgium gathered this week in Brussels to mark the launch of the Rete Giovani Italiani in Belgio – the Network of Young Italians in Belgium.

The goal of the network is to develop new projects in Belgium and to create a platform where young Italians can connect with others, share information and new ideas.

Following the seminar organized by the General Committee of Italians Abroad (CGIE) in Palermo, during which 115 Italian youth from all over the world gathered to form a Network of Young Italians in the World, and on the occasion of the Republic Day, the COMITES of Brussels organized the launch of the Network of Young Italians in Belgium and the presentation of projects born in Palermo.

The event took place in the BNP Paribas Fortis offices at Porte de Namur with the visit to the innovative Digital Flagship and presenting opportunities for promoting Italian companies.

Salvatore Orlando, Head of Expatriates at BNP Paribas Fortis welcomed the community of young Italian expats and emphasized the importance of collaboration –  “Coming to live, work or study in a new country is always a big step, sometimes a difficult one. Exactly for that reason it is important to connect with other like-minded individuals, share information and advice and collaborate on different issues and projects. That should be the role of this new Network of Young Italians in Belgium – to connect, share the experience and work together on launching new projects and improving their life in this country. We are extremely happy that BNP Paribas Fortis helps expats to feel at home and makes their life easier in Belgium.”

The participants were greeted by Lucrezia Scarapicchia, Raffaele Napolitano (President of Comites Brussels), Benedetta Dentamaro (Secretary General of Comites Brussels) and Eleonora Medda (CGIE and councilor Comites Brussels). They presented the broader idea of the project and gave information about the ways to get involved and participate in the development of the network.

Attendees of the event also got a chance to tour the premises of the bank, discover the room where the safe deposit boxes were located in the past, learn about Book & work programme which is offered for free at the BNP Paribas Fortis offices & attend the networking reception.
