A fairy-tale theatrical walk through the forest of La Hulpe

Once upon a time… Little Red Riding Hood and the Great Autumn Ball. New this season, just a few steps beyond Brussels: a fairy-tale theatrical walk through the enchanting forest of La Hulpe, from the creators of Lanterna Magica.

Once upon a time there was a forest. Not just any forest, but the old, stately woods of La Hulpe. Where the lanes wind through the trees like long ribbons, and autumn spreads her golden cloak anew over the paths each year.

There, for the first time in many years, the King is organizing a grand ball to which he invites everyone: princesses, animals, fairies, dwarves, royal footmen, and even a few figures who prefer to lurk in the shadows. And, for the very first time, you too, unsuspecting walkers! That is, if you get there in time…

Through this forest skips Little Red Riding Hood. She isn’t on her way to grandmother’s house — no, she has been given the special task by the King of reminding everyone that the ball is about to begin. No one knows the forest and its inhabitants better than she does. Only, everything seems to be going wrong.

A fairy-tale theatrical walk through the forest of La Hulpe

The signposts have disappeared, the invitations are dancing away on the autumn wind, guests have forgotten their gifts, and not everyone still knows which way to go. So Little Red Riding Hood asks the ordinary children of humankind to walk along and help her. Because, as is the way with fairy tales, real magic only happens once everyone plays their part. And that can happen entirely at your own pace.

Wearing headphones, visitors of all ages walk for two hours through the forest of La Hulpe, passing various stops where live actors each bring a new piece of the story to life. Along the way, Little Red Riding Hood keeps popping up to guide the group further. At every stop, children receive a task. Adults enjoy the atmosphere, the humor, and the visual experience. At the end of the walk, visitors reach the party venue, where the great ball symbolically begins. Little Red Riding Hood expresses her eternal gratitude, and all the children receive a reward from the King himself.

Halfway through the walk there is a break with food and drinks.

The walk is wheelchair- and buggy-accessible and suitable for the whole family.
