Seny Park is a landscaped promenade park located in the municipalities of Auderghem and Watermael-Boitsfort, along the Boulevard du Souverain. Several areas of the park constitute the part of green promenade of the Brussels Region. Our contributor Fadi Dalati shares a wonderful photo story, made during one of his walks around this park. To find out more info about the author, find his details at the bottom of this page.
Seny Park is also a green link allowing species to move continuously along the Woluwe.
The idea of creating a park in this location dates back to the 1950s; a time when many green spaces were created in Brussels. The prospect of Expo 58 helped to move the project forward, specifically the design of a type of arboretum bringing together trees, shrubs, plants and flowers of various but particularly fragrant essences. The park was Inaugurated in 1963 and bears the surname of one of the last owners of the mill.
Seny Park is one of the stations in the Natura 2000 special conservation area which, in Brussels, includes the Soignes forest, its edges, the neighbouring wooded areas and the Woluwe valley.
