Brussels Gallery Weekend – 12th edition!

Between the 5th and 8th of September, Brussels Gallery Weekend presents its 12th edition with 40 galleries and over a dozen institutions and non-profit spaces opening their doors to mark the beginning of the new art season. Brussels Gallery Weekend, through its vast program showcasing the city and the artistic diversity it unravels, is keen on putting forth the dialog between artists, curators and gallerists.

As part of this initiative, the vast program also features an exhibition in the Vanderborght building, entitled Fried Patterns, presenting works from various Brussels-based artists not yet represented by galleries.

Brussels Gallery Weekend has also put together special programs for art collectors, patrons and friends of museums. This programming includes guided tours, private studio visits with artists, visits to private collections, talks and more. More information on this programming may be found on the website of the event.

FRIED PATTERNS & MEETING POINT

The meeting point in the Vanderborght building will open its doors once again for the weekend, hosting the exhibition “Fried Patterns” dedicated to young and local artists not yet represented by galleries. The exhibition’s curator, Tenzing Barshee, has developed for the last ten years curatorial projects throughout Europe. This show leads the audience to experience the emerging side of Belgium’s contemporary art scene, through art school students, young artists recently released from studies, as well as more experienced ones. The Vanderborght building will also host several editions who will present their respective selection of works as well as holding a bar where you can exchange about the shows around a drink.
