Have you seen the new Balkan Trafik mural in Brussels?

In the wake of the 13th edition of the BalkanTrafik festival in Brussels, inauguration of yet another mural happened in our city! Made by Sarajevo artist Rikardo Druškić in the center of Brussels (right next to the Grand Place – Rue du Marché aux Peaux) this mural adds a necessary colour to the street that was otherwise seen as gray and gloomy!

“Balkan Trafik is much more than a festival – it’s a platform for cultural exchange and we are happy that we can contribute in making Brussels more creative and beautiful – the city that is the home base for our activities” says BalkanTrafik founder Nicolas Wieers.

Mural was inaugurated by HR/VP of the EU Commission Federica Mogherini and Philippe Close, Mayor of Brussels, in the presence of Balkan countries ambassadors, EU officials, artists and friends of the Western Balkans! The guest artist Rikardo explained that mural represents friendship and cultural ties between the people of the Western Balkans region and the EU.

This is already a second BalkanTrafik mural (check the first one made by Bulgarian artist Bozko here), made in the framework of the Street Art Parcours of the City of Brussels, supported by the city’s cultural department and the EEAS- European External Action Service.
