Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition in Brussels

TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition has opened in Brussels on 15 March bringing the real objects and real stories to Tour & Taxis. The expo provides a chance to step in the shoes of the passengers and get a new perspective on the fate of the largest and most luxurious ship of its time.

Expect to see authentic artifacts recovered from the wreck of the Titanic at a depth of almost 10,000 feet, the reconstruction of the ship’s rooms and poignant accounts of the passengers present at the time of the shipwreck.

Real objects. Real stories.

On the night of 14 to 15 April 1912, the Titanic, the largest ship the world had ever seen and a veritable floating palace and technological feat, sank following a collision with an iceberg, killing more than 1,500 people and forever altering people’s confidence in modern technology.

More than a century later, Brussels is paying tribute to this tragedy which still resonates today in the collective memory. This educational and family-friendly exhibition focuses on the memorable stories of the men and women aboard the legendary RMS Titanic. The presentation of more than 260 moving objects and the reconstruction of the ship’s cabins and emblematic places (ten-room exhibition covering more than 1,500 m²) tell the true story of this terrible shipwreck. Visitors will be able to see authentic objects brought to the surface by Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Director of Underwater Research, and his teams.

Upon entering the exhibition, visitors receive a replica of the boarding pass carried by the passengers of the Titanic and are transported to 1912. A journey through time begins to discover the history of the Titanic, from its construction to shipwreck, through life on board and missions to recover objects from the bottom of the ocean.

TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition is a captivating experience which tells the story of Titanic like never before. Not to be missed!
