Carl Cash Knight illuminates Maasmechelen Village with dazzling neon art collaboration

Maasmechelen Village is bursting with vibrant colors and artistic brilliance this season as Brussels-based artist Carl Cash Knight joins forces with Belgium’s leading shopping destination for an exclusive take-over. The launch was hosted over a two-day event on 20 & 21 January 2024 and promises to be an immersive experience that transcends traditional boundaries.

This village take-over brings color, life and energy to Maasmechelen Village, transforming the popular shopping destination into a neon wonderland. The concept includes a live painting session in the heart of the Village, where guests can interact with the artist’s creative process up close. As the sun sets, the Village will be taken over by neon lights, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere that blends art, fashion, and innovation.

Carl ‘CASH’ Knight, a Brussels-based self-taught artist and sculpturist since 2009, brings a unique and dynamic perspective to the collaboration. With a following of 29.1K on social media, Carl is not only an artist but also an opinion leader in the art and fashion community. His innovative approach to art has caught the attention of top-tier designers and celebrities, including the late Virgil Abloh and Vincent Kompany.

In a unique and interactive container installation, Village guests can contribute to the artistry by writing their wishes for 2024 using Neon Posca/Sharpie markers. This activation will offer a fun, unforgettable shopping experience but will also become a collaborative art installation, reflecting the spirit of unity and positivity for the coming year.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Carl Cash Knight and infuse Maasmechelen Village with his dynamic artistic energy. This event goes beyond traditional shopping experiences, creating a unique blend of art, fashion, and community engagement,” says Delphine Medaouri, Business Director at Maasmechelen Village. The art installations can be admired in Maasmechelen Village from January 20 until March 10 2024.
