Ceramic Brussels, a new event on the Brussels international contemporary art scene

As a fair resolutely focused on championing contemporary ceramics, this new event will take up the artists’ cause. In the run-up to its first edition (25 to 28 January 2024 at Tour & Taxis), ceramic brussels is unveiling its list of participating galleries, along with details of many aspects of the programme. The fair will bring together nearly 60 Belgian and international galleries from more than 10 countries, including a remarkable 19 who will be offering solo shows to fair visitors.

The event wants to demonstrate its commitment to continually questioning its format and to promoting and bringing together all actors in the world of contemporary ceramic art. ceramic brussels will dialogue with the artists, challenge the visitor’s certainties, involve the galleries and foster exchange with its different audiences. The fair also aims to enhance the experience and the encounter between content while creating an international market and networking platform.

19 solo shows, nearly 60 Belgian and international galleries

For its first edition from 25 to 28 January 2024 on the Tour & Taxis site, the fair will bring together nearly 60 Belgian and international galleries. Remarkably, 19 galleries will be showcasing a single artist in a solo show specially designed for the event.

Presented mainly on the initiative of Belgian and French galleries, these solo show exhibitions will explore the specific world views of artists from a wide range of disciplines and nationalities (Belgian, French, Austrian, Venezuelan, American, Spanish, Swiss, Mongolian, Estonian and German).

ceramic brussels art prize 

ceramic brussels is announcing its first series of Belgian and international galleries, confirming its uniqueness and European ambitions in its first edition. Following a wide-ranging European call for entries, the 10 winners of the ceramic brussels art prize have also been announced. They will be exhibited in a group show at the fair.

The ceramic brussels art prize was set up to give a platform of visibility to young European ceramic artists who are not represented by a gallery. Over 200 entries were received from artists all over Europe.

The 10 winners will be exhibited in a group show at the fair and presented in a single publication. Other prizes will be awarded to the artists during ceramic brussels, including a solo exhibition at the 2025 edition, an international residency or an acquisition.
