“The Voices of Brussels” – New video shows how Brussels entrepreneurs and creative minds see their city

Newly released video “The Voices of Brussels” shows how Brussels entrepreneurs and creative minds see their city. The video was made by hub.brussels, asking Brusselers to explain the meaning of Brussels for them.

Hub.brussels will use the video to present the city abroad, but the intention is also for Brussels companies and organisations to use it in their own communication channels. In the words of Brussels State Secretary for Foreign Trade and International Relations Pascal Smet – “It is not easy to explain Brussels. But the great diversity of people, knowledge, interests, products, … in our city, those are our biggest assets. We will use the video during foreign missions and events to promote Brussels, but the idea is that all Brussels organisations, companies, entrepreneurs, artists, … who would like to do so, will also use it.”

In this video, 11 Brusselers – no actors – debunk Brussels bureaucratic stereotypes and tell what Brussels really means to them. Brussels entrepreneurs, artists, architects, designers, chefs… have their say. Among them is Olivia Borlée, entrepreneur and former Olympic athlete. Their roots sometimes originate in Brussels itself, but it’s not the case for every one of them. Just like the roots of many Brusselers. They describe and portray Brussels as the dynamic, vibrant, human and international metropolis that it is.

Brussels represents something different for every Brusseler, but that is precisely its strength.

The video was developed by Brussels video producers Disturb Studio and is available with subtitles in French, Dutch, English, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Danish, Finnish, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese. Anyone who would like to use the video at an event or through their own communication channels can now download it via this link.
