Behind a totally unremarkable façade in a little cul de sac in Uccle lies the enchanted world of Thierry Bosquet.
A painter, famous set designer (for our opera house among others ) and passionate miniaturist, Thierry Bosquet created a home where the atmospheres are infused with his love for Venice and Versailles.
Now in his eighties he continues to paint in his wonderful atelier, where little decorative elements are tidily organised in a myriad of fabric covered boxes and elegant pots.
The garden is a charming ramble of statues, ivy and taxus rooms. The star of the visit is the show-stopping « cabinet de miniatures ».
Here his passion for the Baroque can fully express itself in these exceptional miniatures: from a grand entrance hall to a royal bedroom, a grotto or a castle kitchen….the dream seems real.
Throughout the house, most of the belongings are deceptively modest in value… however with his resourceful craftsmanship Thierry Bosquet transformed them in a decor fit for a prince.
