Heritage days, 18 & 19 September 2021.

Brussels Heritage Days take place this Saturday and Sunday, 18 & 19 September. More than 140 participating places and hundreds of activities are available by reservation via the heritagedays.brussels site.

To ensure that the Heritage Days can go ahead as safely and as seamlessly as possible, visits to sites and participation in activities must be booked in advance. Bookings can be made online – all visits to indoor sites must be booked, except visits to hospitality venues and places of worship (no bookings are required for these two site types).

OFF Programme
For this year’s Heritage Days, the Brussels-Capital Region is reaching out to all citizens and institutions wishing to share the wealth and cultural diversity of the city’s spectacular heritage.

Heritage is more than just buildings, it is a story, an experience, a transmission. The call for participation in the HoReCa sector has thus been heard. Bars, restaurants and other taverns will offer activities, tastings or events related to Brussels heritage ”

The Brussels-Capital Region has been organising its Heritage Days since 1989. A major event each September aims to bring the people of Brussels closer to their city’s heritage and allow the public to explore places that are rarely open or normally not accessible.

In keeping with the theme of “Meeting Points”, this year’s Heritage Days – the 33rd – celebrate gathering places of all kinds, from public spaces, parks, markets, cafés, restaurants, literary clubs, ballrooms, function rooms and theatres through to visiting rooms, counter halls, boardrooms, meeting rooms, drawing and reception rooms, as well as iconic locations of collective experience.

The health crisis of recent months has provided proof, if this were needed, of how the simple act of meeting in person to talk and share our experiences is vital for all of us. The number of proposals received by Urban testifies to this fact. The response has never been greater: with no fewer than 142 sites and more than 100 activities on offer, this year’s programme is packed with new discoveries, as well as old favourites that draw in visitors year after year.
