Our contributors Meredith & Josefien who run @ellesbxl instagram account visited Villa Empain during one of the Brussels Museums Nocturnes and shared with us the beautiful images that they captured that evening.
We all do know that Brussels doesn’t lack beautiful and interesting architecture. Recently, we visited and admired the Villa Empain, a special building in the Art Deco style. It is a real architectural pearl built in 1930–1934 by Swiss architect Michel Polak. It was commissioned by Baron Louis Empain, son of the Belgian industrialist Édouard Empain.
The swimming pool, in the combination with the large entrance of the house invites you to feel privileged and imagine living during the interbellum.
Since its restoration in 2009–2011, the villa has a new life as an art center with many amazing temporary exhibitions. We visited it during the Brussels Museums Nocturnes and enjoyed the evening atmosphere that made all of us feel special. 🙂
You can find this amazing spot on the following address: Franklin Rooseveltlaan 67, 1050 Brussel. You can also take a look at our event agenda with more info on the latest exhibition at Vila Empain.
