Inspiration diary: 4 things to do on a rainy day in Brussels

First things first – rainy days are a normal thing in our city so any of the visitors (or locals who are hosting friends and family) should embrace the rain. Fix your brain – enjoy it, the rain can be romantic and fun!

  1. Take your umbrellas and go explore the usual sights. Grand Place is equally beautiful and amazing during a rainy day.  Nearby Royal Galleries are a great place to visit and have a break from umbrellas. Explore the chocolate stores, jewelry shops, cinema or some of the cozy cafes and bars inside.
  2. Take your umbrellas and continue the walk – climb to the Mont des Arts /Kunstberg and enjoy the view over a rainy Brussels. You might be lucky and get a photo of a crazy sky or a terrifying sky, just like you can see in this photo gallery! 🙂
  3. Go to a nearby waffle food truck and enjoy this typical Belgian treat. It can be very sweet and tasty, even on the rainy day 🙂  See the photo under…
  4. Museums are always a great idea, especially on a rainy day. Brussels has so many of them and they are really worth visiting. If you are around Place Royale, you should definitely check the Museum of Musical Instruments (beautiful building in Art Nouveau style and amazing views on top floor + cafe bar/restaurant), or simply get inspired by surrealist Magritte and the nearby Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. For the history buffs out there, an interesting Coudenberg museum could be another option to explore the underground remains of old Brussels or learn about Belgian history in the BELvue museum.

Rain + Waffles = Simpy Brussels! 🙂
