Viva Frida Kahlo, the immersive expo in Brussels

The immersive exhibition Viva Frida Kahlo, dedicated to the work and life of the world-famous Mexican artist, comes to Brussels from 20 June 2025. After the resounding success of its first edition, this extraordinary expo brings a new and emotionally powerful second season right in the heart of the European capital, at the iconic venue, The Viage.

More than an exhibition, Viva Frida Kahlo is a sensory and emotional journey. Through visual art, sound, light and immersive storytelling, visitors are immersed in the vibrant, tormented, and deeply human world of one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century. Accessible to all audiences – art lovers and curious minds alike—this experience requires no prior knowledge. It offers a direct and personal connection to Frida’s work and legacy, inviting everyone to feel her pain, admire her resilience, and embrace her passion for life, art, and Mexico.

What’s new in this second edition? The renewed Brussels season brings many surprises:

  • A revamped journey showcasing ten iconic artworks, integrated into an even more powerful 360° projection.
  • An exclusive focus on La Casa Azul, Frida’s famous Blue House in Coyoacán, reimagined in an immersive space that brings visitors into her creative sanctuary.
  • A photo moment allowing guests to become part of Frida’s colorful and floral world.
  • A multilingual narration, telling the story of her life, her journals, her words, and her most profound emotions.

This expo is presented at the VIAGE – Digital Art Theatre which is the first Belgian venue dedicated to immersive and digital art. Using powerful projectors to project images around visitors, it provides a breathtaking 360° experience. The venue is located in the heart of the city of Brussels and is part of the Grand Casino Brussels VIAGE.

Monumental projections, multilingual narration, and spatialized sound immerse you in the life, work, and struggles of this fascinating artist

Between Pain and Light
Frida Kahlo stands as a singular figure in the history of art – an artist who turned suffering into beauty. After a devastating accident in her youth, Frida found in painting an act of survival, resistance, and freedom. Her deeply autobiographical work explores identity, gender, motherhood, death, passion, and solitude. Through it all, she gave rise to vivid colors and poetic meaning, shaping her inner world into a universal artistic language.

Plan your visit:
Accessible to all, with no artistic background required, the exhibition offers a personal connection to Frida: her art, her pain, her courage, and her Mexico.
Location:
The Viage, Boulevard Anspach, Brussels.
