Runners’ clubs are multiplying all around the world, from “matcha run clubs” to specifically food-oriented initiatives like the “flan tours” in Paris or the “kebab tours” in London. Tartine et boterham, the guide to artisanal bakeries and patisseries in Brussels and Wallonia, is launching its own “bakery run”.
The concept? A once-a-month event, open to any runner interested in taking part in a 15-kilometer group run (maximum 50 people per group). The idea is to create an enjoyable event which is not a speed race, but rather a social pace run (6 minutes per kilometer for those in the know), which allows everyone to talk while exploring different neighborhoods in Brussels.
The little extra? The group stops at three artisanal bakeries / patisseries (list of all “T&B” bakeries here), to enjoy a home-made specialty at each stop. The price per participant is set at 10 euros, enough to cover the specialties purchased from the artisans. To mark the occasion, Tartine et boterham is inaugurating the Strava Bakery Run group.
The first bakery run takes place on Saturday June 28 at 9.30 a.m. in Schaerbeek.
