KAGE, new Brussels destination for specialty tea, cocktails and culture

A brand new destination for tea aficionados has arrived to Brussels – KAGE, a new Belgian tea brand that redefines the tea experience, has opened its magnificent flagship store and tea-based cocktail bar, headed by Boupinh Lam. The bar is located on rue Antoine Dansaert 19, in the heart of Brussels.

KAGE is not just a tea brand, it’s a global concept that brings together three main activities: E-shop, experience in their tearoom and education via workshops and masterclasses.

The company offers a range of specialty teas thanks to their E-shop, rigorously sourced directly from producers after several field visits over the past two years. The current range includes high-quality tea powders such as matcha, hojicha and genmaicha, to which loose teas will be added later this year. These products are available to both B2B partners and tea lovers via the KAGE online store.

Thanks to its Tearoom & Tea Bar, KAGE will offer a true experience for all those who want a new way to discover tea. Tearoom will be open 7/7, from 10am to 5pm, offering specialty teas, matcha lattes and tea-based pastries in a modern, welcoming setting.

Tea Bar is open on Fridays & Saturdays, from 6pm-11pm. This will be a truly unique cocktail bar where tea meets mixology. the public can discover tea-infused cocktails (Tea-tails) and signature creations by KAGE co-founder and tea expert Boupinh Lam. The company also plans to organize special events and exceptional evenings on selected Thursdays with brand collaborations and special guests.

Education will be another important aspect of KAGE, promoting tea culture through workshops and masterclasses, led by founder Boupinh Lam who has over 10 years’ experience in the hotel and beverage industry. KAGE’s B2B partners will benefit from tailor-made training, while sessions open to the public will be offered throughout the year.

“Tearoom, tea bar, tea-tails and education-all under one roof. KAGE is the new Brussels destination for specialty tea, cocktails and culture”

KAGE is co-founded by Boupinh Lam, a seasoned professional with over 10 years’ experience in the hospitality and beverage industry (HoReCa). As KAGE’s tea expert and mixologist, Boupinh is responsible for product development and educational initiatives. He is joined by the founders of Kafei, who bring their entrepreneurial and hospitality expertise to the project.

At KAGE, you can discover matcha through Usucha, a Japanese tea ceremony practice that means “light tea”. It is prepared with 2 grams of matcha powder and 100 ml of water, and vigorously whipped with a chasen to create a fine, creamy froth. Depending on the type of matcha used, the tea’s aromas can range from nutty to iodized and marine. Usucha is an integral part of Japanese history, reflecting the beauty of its traditions.

KAGE’s mission is to rediscover tea beyond traditional perceptions, attract a new generation of tea lovers through modern approaches to tea consumption, promote the global tea industry and its rich cultural heritage and highlight the versatility of tea, from soothing infusions to daring cocktails and gourmet pastries.
