Art Nouveau Day Dinner Party at The Nine

To celebrate World Art Nouveau Day and the 125th Anniversary of its clubhouse, The Nine is organising a special Art Nouveau dinner party on 14 June! The event is open to non-members offering a perfect opportunity to discover the lovely atmosphere of The Nine clubhouse.

What to expect? Enjoy a luxurious three-course meal plus welcome bubbles, while enjoying the original Art Nouveau features of the clubhouse and garden.

For this occasion, The Nine will welcome guest speaker Dorka Demeter, who will celebrate women in Art Nouveau; female artists plus the woman as a central motif and source of inspiration. Dorka will also give tips and tricks for guests to further discover the incredibly rich architectural heritage that surrounds us in Brussels.

Dorka Demeter is someone to whom the Art Nouveau heritage of Brussels has given a new life, a new identity. She has been working in the European Parliament for 13 years now. Unlike many others, she has grown to live and love the city. The COVID lockdown brought a further turning point in her life when disguised as doing sports, she walked 100km along the Art Nouveau architectural heritage of the city during the first lockdown.

Since then, two Instagram profiles grew out of this passion: @magicofartnouveau is the largest profile in the world featuring Art Nouveau architecture from all over Europe through one’s own photos, while @artnouveau.brussels sheds light on the well-known masterpieces as well as the lesser-known hidden gems of Brussels. Dorka is also the Art Nouveau editor of WeLoveBrussels.
