Bel’Oeuf, a surreal Easter egg exhibition at Hotel Amigo

Hotel Amigo is hosting a second edition of Bel’Oeuf, an exhibition of elaborately designed chocolate eggs, from 22 March until 1 April 2024. Internationally renowned Belgian chocolatiers will showcase their stunning creations, which are also available for purchase with proceeds donated to a children’s project at Saint-Pierre Hospital in Brussels.

This year’s exhibition theme is inspired by a century of surrealism in Belgium – a celebratory nod to the radical art movement established in 1924, challenging traditional ways of thinking.

The main partners of the event are the founder of Bel’Œuf, a renowned chocolatier Marc Ducobu, the luxury chocolate brand Valrhona, as well as the Brussels City Hall. Notable participants include Pierre Marcolini and Yasushi Sasaki, winner of the ‘Chocolatier of the Year 2024’ award for Brussels.

Guests will be guided by a museum-style pamphlet throughout Hotel Amigo’s lobby, restaurant and bar, and will follow a curated route of eggs (50 to 60 cm) made by chocolatiers pushing the boundaries of art in the spirit of their preservative muses.

Participating artists:
Marc Ducobu, Jean-Philippe Darcis, Nicolas Arnaud, Philippe Buntinx, Cédric De Taeye, Célina Kittel, Othmane Jaber (St Aulaye), Michael Lewis Anderson, Pierre Plas, Jan Proot (Delrey), Raphaël Giot, Sasaki, Alexandre Druart, Didier Smeets, Chocolaterie Painture, Marcolini, Grain de vanille, Laurent Gerbault, Arnaud Champagne, Marijn Coertjens, Vandender, C Comme, Caprice Antoine Duvet, Macaron&co, Bernard Schoumacker, By Michèle, Nathan Pluvinage, Chocolaterie M, Frédéric Blondeel.
