CRYSTAL, Cirque du Soleil returns to Brussels

Finally, CRYSTAL, Cirque du Soleil’s first-ever acrobatic spectacle on ice is coming to Brussels to thrill audiences. This unique performance blends the art of circus with the world of ice skating to take the public on an unforgettable, gravity-defying journey. CRYSTAL’s European tour brings the show to Brussels’ Palais 12, from 9 to 12 February 2023.

CRYSTAL invites you to suspend reality and glide into a world that springs to a colorful life with astounding visual projections and an original score that seamlessly blends popular music with the signature sound of Cirque du Soleil.

“Belgium has always been one of our favorite countries to visit. The recent success of CORTEO in Brussels, in 2019, and this week in Antwerp confirms how much Belgian audiences love Cirque du Soleil,” says Stéphane Lefebvre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group. “With CRYSTAL, audiences will be able to experience the thrill of our first-ever performance on ice that combines our signature gravity-defying acrobatics with the speed and elegance of skating.”

In CRYSTAL, gymnasts and skaters perform acrobatics on the ice and in the air, seamlessly combining multiple disciplines together. Synchronised skating, freestyle figures, and extreme skating are featured alongside circus disciplines such as swinging trapeze, aerial straps, and hand to hand. Figure skaters learned how to be pushers on Chinese poles, while circus artists learned how to skate, and extreme skaters learned figure skating moves.

“With CRYSTAL, audiences will be able to experience the thrill of our first-ever performance on ice that combines our signature gravity-defying acrobatics with the speed and elegance of skating.”

THE 42ND SHOW

CRYSTAL is Cirque du Soleil’s 42nd creation and explores the artistic possibilities of ice for the first time. This unique production pushes boundaries of performance by combining stunning skating and acrobatic feats that defy the imagination. It features an international cast composed of figure, extreme and freestyle ice skaters, acrobats, musicians and a comic character. Eleven different nationalities are represented in the cast.

The show can be viewed in Brussels at Palais 12 from February 9 to 12, 2023 and in Antwerpen – Sportpaleis between 17-19 February 2023. Get more info & tickets for the shows via following links – Brussels and Antwerp.
