City Garden: Second edition of plant market in the EU quarter

“City Garden” is a large market of flowers and seasonal plants destined to find place both in the gardens and inside the houses. This is the second edition of the event which first started last November with autumn plants in focus. The market will take place next to the European Commission building (Berlaymont), more precisely on rue Stévin 142 & 144 in the Brussels’ EU quarter.

As with the first edition, visitors are invited to discover the “City Garden” (free entrance) during 6 & 7 May (10-21h) and on 8 May (11-16h). The event is organised with the assistance of the GAQ, Brussels Schuman association and with the support of the Alderman of Economic Affairs of Brussels City. In addition, the ACCJM will benefit this time from the collaboration with the Representation of the European Commission in Brussels.

Nicole Du Jacquière, President of the ACCJM shared her satisfaction with the new edition of this event – “We are very pleased with all the support that is necessary to restore the local trade in the European District, which, as everyone knows, has been and still is, greatly affected by the effects of the tele-working for European civil servants. We are trying to get back on track and this is why we are organising such activities which aim to highlight the resilience of the merchants in the neighbourhood close to the Commission and other EU buildings.”

In this regard, it is worth stressing that “City Garden” will coincide with the calendar of the “Open Doors of the European Institutions” (7th May) which always attracted a lot of people in the EU District. Hopefully, it will be the same this year and “City Garden” will certainly be a good addition to the positive image of the district.
