The best places to admire cherry blossoms in Brussels

Cherry blossoms symbolise spring. Many avenues and squares in the city are lined with cherry trees that are totally irresistible when in bloom ‑ usually in the beginning of April but their lifespan is only around two weeks and then their blossoms start to fall. So what are the best places to admire this phenomenon in Brussels?

We have chosen eight mesmerising spots where you can observe cherry tree blossoms in Brussels and enjoy in the beautiful spring environment. If you have some other locations to suggest, feel free to tag our account on Instagram and we might include some new spots in this guide.

Besides these 8 featured places, we also noticed some beautiful cherry blossoms around the Cemetery Woluwe Saint Lambert, Place Hermann Dumont in Saint Gilles, Avenue d’Italie in Ixelles, Avenue Louis Jasmin, etc.

Schaerbeek: Avenue Émile Max & Avenue du Diamant

This is our absolute favourite for admiring cherry blossoms in spring! We usually start on Avenue Charbo and walk towards Square Plasky. On both sides of the street there are beautiful mansions and when cherry trees start to blossom everything just becomes even more magical. From Square Plasky take Avenue du Diamant for even more cherry blossoms.

Schaerbeek: Avenue Huart Hamoir

Avenue and Park Huart Hamoir and the neighbouring streets offer amazing cherry blossoms views.

Schaerbeek: Avenue Rogier

Start on beautiful Place de la Patrie and walk around.

Schaerbeek: Parc Josaphat

There is a short lane in Parc Josaphat: Chemin du tir à l’arc, where you will feel as on a movie set. For best experience start on Bd Lambermont.

Woluwe‑Saint‑Lambert: Avenue des Cerisiers

In WSL, take Avenue des Cerisiers to enjoy rows and rows of cherry blossoms.

Woluwe‑Saint‑Lambert: Avenue Marie‑José

Another beautiful walk along sidewalks lined up with cherry blossoms is on Avenue Marie‑José. You will admire the entire setting with some pretty nice houses.

Watermael‑Boitsfort: Garden Cities Floréal

Garden Cities in Watermael Boitsfort are really interesting to visit during the cherry blossoms season. Besides cherry blossoms, you will also enjoy the unique architecture of this working class neighbourhood. As instagrammer @annewymeels noted – “Not only houses but also community facilities (schools, sports fields, health clinics, a cinema, etc.) were part of the Garden City of Floréal plan. Green spaces, hedgerows, rows of cherry trees and carefully choreographed perspectives enhance the streets of this neighbourhood.”

Evere: Maison communale d’Evere

Nearby Maison communale d’Evere find Rue Leekaerts for more magic.

Etterbeek: Avenue Jules Malou

This spot in Etterbeek offers a different cherry blossom scenery with a lovely view on the church in the background. Warmly recommended.
