Expo “Inside Magritte” – Step in the mind of the surrealism!

Wondering how to step in the mind of the surrealism? Look no further, “Inside Magritte” is a brand new multimedia experience which takes place at La Boverie museum in Liege. This expo is a must-see for all of us who share the fascination with surrealism and admire the popular Belgian painter René Magritte. The show presents a selection of 160 works offering a chance to discover René Magritte’s paintings in an immersive experience thanks to the modern technologies. Visitors are surrounded with animation and get to experience the iconic artworks like never seen before.

Step in the mind of the surrealism

The immersive exhibition at the Boverie Museum gives visitors a chance to plunge into the world of Magritte in an entirely new way. Eight themes which illustrate the career of the Belgian master are presented through the 360 degrees projections. This way we can follow the overview of the artist’s work and get the full idea of his artistic evolution.

Some of the highlights of this expo include a hall of mirrors designed as a kaleidoscope of images, a documentary on Magritte and the space equipped with seats and virtual reality headsets which allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in Magritte’s art.

The artist was fascinated by mirrors which is seen in a number of his paintings (notably Les Liaisons dangeureuses). Accordingly, the Mirror Room in this expo is a spot where the art of Magritte is reflected again and again, giving the impression that the room is extending to infinity.

To understand the magnitude of presented artworks, imagine being surrounded by a 5-meter high walls with Magritte’s paintings projected all around you. There will also be effects on the floor. All of these works are in motion which means that the visitor is immersed into the Magritte’s work with clouds moving around or the raining apples.

Thanks to a detailed 3D modelization, the Oculus VR Inside Magritte experience moves visitors a step closer to the artist’s masterpieces.
