Global fashion brand Versace misspelled the name of our city – instead of Brussels, the company printed ‘Brusells’ on their t-shirts. The error was uncovered as the big outrage grows in China for another mistake – the cities of Hong Kong and Macau are mentioned as independent territories instead of being part of China.
After fierce criticism on social media in China, the luxury fashion brand admitted it had made a mistake and had stopped selling the the product.
The Versace T-shirts featured the city-country pairs such as Milan-Italy and Tokyo-Japan while Chinese territories of Hong Kong and Macau were included as “Hong Kong-Hong Kong” and and “Macau-Macau”. Only then was uncovered that the company also misspelled the name of the capital city of Belgium by printing ‘Brusells’ on the t-shirt.
