New in town: The Green Man Bar, specialty beers & cocktails!

As passionate followers of Brussels urban life we are always on the hunt for interesting and cool establishments. Walking around Grand Place we recently noticed a newcomer on the bar scene, located right next to our beautiful square. The bar is interestingly called The Green Man Bar and we asked its founder Andrei Stan why did he decide to start this venture in the centre of Belgian capital.

What is the idea of The Green Man and what makes your bar different?

From the moment you enter in our bar, you will be surrounded by a green world – The Green Man’s world! It is a modern and comfortable bar, yet cosy and intimate, where you can taste one of our great beers, a unique beer cocktail, regular drinks or very tasty cocktails. We don’t want you to just come and have a drink. We want you to have a great time and we will do all we can for that to happen. I almost forgot, we chose to offer you the most famous Belgian beer internationally, Stella Artois. This is a rare find in Brussels, and we are sure you will love it!

Why did you decide to open the bar in Brussels?

Brussels has many beer bars, as well as cocktail bars. But we aim to be one of the bars where everyone can find something he likes, if it’s a good beer or an amazing cocktail, in a modern but affordable bar, right next to the Grand Place. We think we can bring a plus on this.

Your recommendations for locals and tourists – what special drinks should they try in your bar?

There are many drinks that you won’t find easily somewhere else (or not at all!). Let me start with the unique Beer cocktails that we have (if it’s a Mojito Kriek, Raspberry Delice, Peach Julep, or a Smokey Faro), to very special beers like (Wakame & Spirulina, Tulsi, Cuberdon, Whisky or Spicy Rhum) as well as our great cocktails. Oh, and let’s now forget our signature cocktail – THE BELGIAN, one that is made with speculoos!

Anything else you would like to share with our readers?

We are happy that people who visit our place actually do not only come to a bar but are being part of the cultural experience and local heritage. We are situated in a UNESCO protected building, called “Le chien rouge” or “The red dog” having the original front and windows of the building, but offering you a totally different atmosphere on the inside.
