From above: Grand Place Brussels

Let’s start this weekend with a beautiful aerial photo of Grand Place in Brussels! It was made by Yaroslav Kho who runs an instagram account @apertoura .

He also shared the following story:

Great places to take off and control your drone from are open too parking garages. According to google/apple maps the center of Brussels had a giant open top parking space, within range of all the major city highlights. But was I surprised when I arrived at the exact address and found no trace of the building – since the last mapping update it had been razed to the ground and construction on a new office block or mall had already started. Hence the importance of having a plan B or at least being ready to adapt when things fail to go according to plan. At that time I had to rapidly search the nearby areas for an alternative location and as luck would have it – there was a different parking garage in the vicinity, albeit with restricted roof access and a very narrow balcony on the highest floor. In any case – I managed to fly that day and this image is the result.
