The Arts Society Brussels organizes the lecture titled – Threads of History: The World of the Bayeux Tapestry by Rupert Willoughby a prize-winning historian, a lively introduction to the Tapestry in which Rupert unravels some of its mysteries.
The lecturer Rupert Willoughby has forefathers who were Vikings and his foremothers were Tatars. The subject of our lecture will be fascinating as Rupert endeavours to convey to us his passion, threads of history with a lively introduction to the Tapestry, in which he unravels some of its mysteries, places it in the context of its age and firmly establishes it as a landmark in the history of Western art.
The Arts Society Brussels was founded in 1985 with the aim of enhancing the appreciation and enjoyment of the arts in their many forms. We organize lectures by leading experts, guided tours to exhibitions, museums and galleries.
