The International Chorale of Brussels: Blue Moon, a romantic evening of popular classics 23 & 24 March

The International Chorale of Brussels presents Blue Moon, a romantic evening of popular classics which will be held on 23 & 24 March, at 20h. The concerts will also include a very interesting collaboration with Our House – a Brussels charity that supports refugees and migrants. 

Blue Moon, two romantic evenings of popular classics will include some of the following: Blue Moon, Autumn Leaves, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Begin the Beguine and more. During the two evenings, the featured soloist will be Diana Aivia, American opera singer, jazz chanteuse, and creator of Diva Synesthesia, multi-sensory musical extravaganzas.

A special novelty of this event will be the chance to taste a selection of Mediterranean snacks during the interval and after the concert. Catering is organized by Our House, a Brussels charity that supports refugees and migrants through food and cooking.

The International Chorale of Brussels is a multinational choir of around 50 singers. Members of the choir hail from all over the world, although the working language is English. The choir has been directed by John Brown since 2009 and usually gives concerts twice a year with soloists and musicians from the Brussels area.

The choir’s repertoire covers well-known Masses and large-scale works by composers such as Monteverdi and Palestrina, as well as popular music and less familiar music and composers, including modern works.

The choir has been featured on BBC Radio 4’s programme, Meet My Choir, will be singing in May for the second time on the main stage of the BOZAR during the Singing Brussels festivaland participated in La Monnaie’s community opera project, The Sounds of Longing in May 2017.

New choir members are always warmly welcome, although we are sometimes limited on which voices we can accept due to numbers. Whilst some previous experience is helpful, no auditions are held. For more information contact Anna: admin@internationalchorale.com
