Great news for creative morning fans in Brussels! The Brussels team is back and fully renewed. For those who are not familiar, Creative Mornings are popular breakfast lecture series for the creative community, organized in major cities (160+) all around the world.
After a break for the last couple of months, the team has took the time to rearrange the organisation and to gather inspiration for a new year. The first event in 2018 will take place on February 16! Here’s the message from the Brussels team:
We’re coming back with a bang! For our first event of the season, we have two speakers to spark your creativity… It will be a kind of XL edition, so please spare 20-30 minute more this time.
Julie Anne Gilleland
Julie Anne Gilleland is a designer who works with learning and educational concepts. She developed Think with Things, a strategy to let us learn things hands-on, through playing with everyday objects.
She’ll talk about getting back some of the qualities we all had as a child: playfulness, imagination, questioning, an ‘anything is possible’ attitude… and of course curiosity!
· Louis Vanhaverbeke
We’re very curious to listen to Louis Vanhaverbeke, one of the artists in residence of Beursschouwburg, our partner and venue. Louis has a keen interest in the clash of lifestyles and subcultures. As a teenager, he switched back and forth between rapper attitude and wannabe rock star. By remixing different ambitions, he developed a very particular vocabulary: freestyle, hard to classify, but very intelligible.
He often gets lost because of his curiosity. At CreativeMornings he will try to keep himself together and talk on, or at least show us, how that works: “It’s good to keep an open mind, but make sure your brains don’t fall out.”
