It’s time for Nuit Blanche 2017 in Brussels! The 2017 edition will take place during the night of Saturday 7 October, from 7.00pm until 3.00am, around the Parc Royal and the “Quartier des Libertés” – Freedom district (formerly Notre-Dame-aux-Neiges).

With this 15th edition, NUIT BLANCHE intends once again to explore a theme which is closely linked to the district in question. The theme this time will be “POWER GAMES”. Flanked by the Palais de la Nation (Belgian Federal Parliament), the 16 Rue de la Loi (headquarters of the Belgian governement), the Flemish Parliament and various offices of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the surroundings of Parc Royal are a concentration of numerous decision-making centres. But they also house other incarnations of power and counter-power: royalty, religion, finance, business circles, lobbies and even the media.

However, the exercise of power is not only limited to the political sphere. From intimidation to seduction, via manipulation, power relations and influence peddling govern our daily lives, whether at work or in the family environment. It is these multiple expressions of power, both publicly and privately, which will be explored in the forthcoming edition of NUIT BLANCHE.
