The introduction of new, electric buses on the streets of Brussels has been announced for quite some time. Some of our readers noticed that new hybrid buses have already been put on the test – notably on the line 64. Instagram user @mikebarbe75 posted a photo of the hybrid bus (see below) and we are looking forward to see more of them!
STIB/MIVB announced earlier in July that seven full electric minibuses have been ordered from the Polish manufacurer Solaris. They will be equipped with overnight charging technology which does not require any infrastructure to recharge while on the road. Battery recharging will only take place at night.
