Urban snaps: The sun and Place de la Bourse

We are starting a new series – sharing the snaps of the city (short notes, photos, stories…) from our community of Brussels admirers. First one comes from Jo(anna) who runs @thisfemaleconsciousness instagram account.

She shared her impressions while relaxing at sunny Place de la Bourse, reading her book and observing people around her…

The sun and Place de la Bourse
Behind me, a Korean man sleeping
on the stairs is twitching & talking to
imaginary demons
Sweet shisha smell
Lingering rays of light caressing roofs
Hip-hop blasting in front of a church
A woman in red lipstick and sunglasses with a gun in one hand
and a bottle of Smirnoff in the other,
unleashing a deluge of grievances
in French upon the world
And me, a comet adrift
walking in circles
