Urban gardening in Brussels

The Bulletin published a story about growing your own food in Brussels. It brings 10 interesting tips for all those interested in urban gardening. We believe that local produce can really make a difference when it comes to sustainability and living healthier. This also contributes to the greener and more livable city which creates a more positive image of Brussels and raises its attractiveness.

The Brussels region has set an ambitious goal to locally produce 30% of the fruit and vegetables that its residents consume by 2035. The figure currently stands at 1%.

“There might be a long way to go – but the good news is that Brussels has great potential for urban gardening and no space is too small”, according to Allan Howard, a Scotsman in Brussels whose kitchen garden in Ixelles has been growing for a decade. The full article is available at The Bulletin.
